Law Admission Test (LAT) 2025

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has opened registrations for the 2025 Law Admission Test (LAT). The test is critical to undertake for those who wish to join the HEC approved LLB program offered by five-year undergraduate HEC-recognized public and private sector universities and their accredited affiliated colleges.
Students across Pakistan can participate in the LAT, as they will be able to select their preferred test centre. The test is set to take place on April 13, 2025, while the application window will be open from February 1, 2025, to March 16, 2025. Students can submit their applications through the online portal of HEC.
Remember that in order to get admission to the LLB program in government or private universities and affiliated colleges, students must first pass the HEC Law Admission Test.
Who Can Apply for the HEC Law Admission Test?
Eligible Candidates:
- Students that have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or an equivalent qualification.
- Those awaiting results after sitting for their HSSC final exams.
Important Information:
- Applying for LAT is a hassle-free process, as students can visit the HEC website (http://etc.hec.gov.pk) and follow the simple steps.
- Any applicant who has registered will be able to print their Roll Number Slips from the HEC’s site (http://etc.hec.gov.pk) one week prior to the examination dates.
Communication:
Candidates who have registered will be contacted through email or SMS regarding the date, time, and place of the exam. Ensure that you provide a valid email address and mobile number during the online application.
On Examination Day:
You need to carry a copy of your Roll Number Slip along with your original CNIC in order to access the Examination Centre.
How to Register for the HEC Law Admission Test LAT 2025
Online Registration:
- You can register using the HEC registration portal at http://etc.hec.gov.pk.
- If you face problems in registration, help can be obtained at onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or by visiting the HEC Secretariat, and other regional offices of HEC.
Application Process:
There are two parts to the application process. The first part is to create a profile in the “My Profile” section and then to complete the application using the “Law Admission Test” link on the left side of the portal. The last and second step is to apply for the test.
Only applications marked as SUBMITTED will be considered for the LAT. Applications that are in SAVE status or INCOMPLETE will not be accepted.
How to Pay:
- You can pay your test fee using the 1Link 1Bill invoice by participating banks, ATMs, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or U-Paisa. The fee amounts to Rs. 1800.
- To pay, select the option for payment of 1Link Bill Invoice. Mobile banking users need to open their app and go to Bill Payment Services. Enter the consumer number from the ETC portal and complete the payment.
- After the payment, select the dashboard's option “Verify Online Payment”. Make sure you address all queries/complaints before the registration portal shuts down.
Don't Forget:
- The test fee becomes fully void when paid and it cannot be transferred to any other candidate.
- The system will automatically close for new registrations due to security and logistical control reasons.
- Online registration will be available until March 16, 2025.
